Following various tours, including with Deep Purple and the Swiss band Krokodil, the Frankfurt power trio Jeronimo returned to Dieter Dierks’ studio in Stommeln in March 1972 to record their third and final album. Alongside Dierks, who served as sound engineer, the producer this time was Peter Hauke, head of the Bacillus Records label. Their album Time Ride was released on this label in October, featuring an elaborately designed gatefold cover by Klaus Holitzka, based on a design concept by Helmut Wenske.

While their previous album Jeronimo showcased aggressive and uncompromising hard rock and boogie-blues, the material on this LP – which was even released in Brazil – is more ambitious and varied. There are vocal-driven mid-tempo tracks, melodic mainstream rock, powerful and energetic heavy progressive rock with occasional psychedelic influences, as well as gentle ballads with soft acoustic passages.

Although they enjoyed a brief, meteoric career as one of the best-known German bands of the era and performed live alongside acts such as The Byrds, Black Sabbath and Golden Earring, their third LP failed to meet commercial expectations. After being dropped by their record label, they disbanded in 1973. This final Jeronimo album is now also difficult to find as a first German pressing and is therefore quite expensive.
