All four members of the British heavy progressive rock quartet Fuzzy Duck from London were highly regarded musicians who had already played in numerous bands – including Five Day Week Straw People, Andromeda, Capability Brown, The End, Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Tucky Buzzard and others. Guitarist and singer Grahame White, Roy Sharland on the Hammond organ, bassist and singer Mick Hawksworth, and drummer Paul Francis recorded and self-produced their first LP at London’s Olympic Studios. Their eponymous debut album, featuring the amusing „hippy duck“ on the front cover, was released in September 1971 in a tiny run of just 500 copies on the pop label MAM.

The four-piece London rock band played progressive hard rock with psychedelic elements, with loads of magnificent, heavy lead guitar and characterised by a prominent Hammond organ. Unfortunately, the album received no promotion whatsoever from the record company and quickly faded into obscurity. The band split up shortly afterwards, and so it remained their first and only album. As the original run comprised only a few copies, the original vinyl is now extremely rare and has since become something of a cult classic, highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
