Whistler, an obscure and forgotten progressive folk rock band from England who released only one album on the progressive Decca label Deram in 1971. George Howe (voc, g, keyb), John Chuter (voc, g, b) and Anthony Grout-Smith (g, b, sax, voc) played melodic folk rock with hints of prog with the help of the crème de la crème of the British studio scene. The twelve gently and softly orchestrated tracks were supported by a sensitive and rich production. But none of this prevented the band and their only album from disappearing into obscurity.
Now it is one of UK Deram's most sought-after rarities and is especially coveted by Asian collectors.
