Keyboardist Klaus Bangert (voc, org, p, synth) and drummer Reinhard Fischer (dr, perc, synth) were two musicians from Düsseldorf who decided to continue as the duo Twogether in the early 1970s, after the break-up of their previous band. In the period that followed, they developed a unique repertoire based solely on drums and keyboards, which was highly unusual at the time. By October/November 1973, the time had come and they recorded their debut in the small Düsseldorf studio Neubauer. Their self-produced album A Couple Of Times was released at the end of the year on the tiny label Victory Records, alongside a single whose two tracks apparently hadn’t found a place on the LP.

The keyboard-drums duo created a predominantly instrumental, psychedelic and dreamy journey of spacey electronica featuring endless keyboard and synthesiser improvisations underpinned by jazzy drumming. Their repertoire also included soulful psych-pop ballads with beautiful melodies and melancholic vocals. The avant-garde cover design by Düsseldorf artist and graphic designer Manfred Spies perfectly captures the innovative sound of Twogether. An extremely limited print run and self-distribution led to a lack of success. After just a few live concerts, the duo split up in 1974. What remained was a little-known psych-prog classic of incredible rarity, which is correspondingly expensive.
