The band Think was formed in Marl in the Ruhr area, Western Germany in 1971. The unusual line-up consisted of three Germans, fans of UK rock music and two Hungarian brothers plus one Czech, which were Classical musicians. Two years later Rodrigo Ramor (voc, perc), Frank Voigt (fl, effects), Gerd Pohl (g, voc), Ricky Ramor (b), Friedhelm Wördehoff (dr, perc) and Kajo Sandrik (vln, vla, org, p, perc, effects) recorded their first and only album at Menga Studios Gelsenkirchen. It was released in October 1973 in an edition of just 500 copies on the Gelsenkirchen-based Menga label. Variety stands for the diversity of their music on this album. The six talented musicians combined their different musical cultures to create a complex progressive rock with flute, violin and guitars. Blues rock was interspersed with jazzy elements, classical quotations and melodic vocal parts. All in all, their original mixture sounded more like sunny California than dark Ruhrpott.
Unfortunately, the record was not promoted and was a commercial flop. They disbanded not long afterwards. Today, their only album in a very small edition is an ultra-expensive collector's item.
