Founded in in Johannesburg in early 1970, the four members Andy Ionnides (voc, fl), Stephen Gilroy (g), Louis Forer (b) und Saverio Grande (dr) were out to shock right from the start. They recorded the loudest, most controversial and obnoxious rock album of the early 70s. Heavy sledgehammer guitar work, soaring vocals and a real rock’n’roll attitude make this album one of the 10 greatest obscurities of the genre. Superb cover versions of Into the Fire (Deep Purple), War Pigs (Black Sabbath), Aimless Lady (Grand Funk), 21st Century Schizoid Man (King Crimson) and an extended 10 minute version of Season of the Witch which is mind frying, as well as the lone original, The Whip. However, the band did not live long under the dictated conservatism of the apartheid mandate. After only 240 days, it was already over.
This super rare South African psych hard rock from the early '70s is legendary and for many one of their all time favourites!
