Recording sessions for their eighth British and tenth American studio album, Let It Bleed, at Olympic-Studios in London took over a year, from November 1968 to November 1969. Under the direction of producer Jimmy Miller and sound engineer Glyn Johns, the Rolling Stones recorded their album with an outstanding line-up of session musicians: Al Kooper, Ry Cooder, Nicky Hopkins, Ian Stewart, Leon Russell, as well as Byron Berline (violin), Bobby Keys (saxophone), Jimmy Miller (drums, percussion, tambourine) and Merry Clayton with her impressive vocals on Gimme Shelter. Brian Jones performed on two tracks: Midnight Rambler and You Got The Silver. Following his death during recording sessions on 3 July 1969, his successor, guitarist Mick Taylor, played on two tracks: Country Honk and Live With Me. Keith Richards sang lead vocals on You Got The Silver, marking his first time as lead vocalist on a Rolling Stones recording.

The follow-up to Beggars Banquet was released in early December 1969 and impresses with its varied mix of hard rock and blues, inspired by American roots music. Not only was it received extremely positively by music critics, but it also reached number 1 in the UK charts and number 3 in the US, where it was eventually certified double platinum. This Decca Mono version, complete with the cover sticker, the original inner sleeve with all the details and the poster, all in first-class condition, is a truly rare and sought-after item for collectors.
