It was in 1970, the result of two disbanded beat bands was called Premiata Forneria Marconi and consisted of Franco Mussida (g, voc), Mauro Pagani (fl, vln, voc), Flavio Premoli (org, p, mltn, moog, voc), Giorgio Piazza (b) and Franz Di Cioccio (dr). All musicians with technical qualities that are far above the average of contemporary beat bands. After numerous gigs they went into a recording studio in Milan at the beginning of 1972 and recorded their groundbreaking first album Storia Di Un Minuto. It was released in 1972 on Numero Uno, an independent Italian record label, which quickly became one of the most influential labels in Italian music history. Inspired by UK progressive legends King Crimson, Genesis, Yes they adding their typical mediterranean flavor. It immediately stands out due to the professionalism and technical skills of the band as well as the originality of the songs.
This first album of PFM is regarded worldwide as a masterpiece of Italian progressive rock. It was a successful debut with good sales figures and was therefore re-released numerous times. The Italian first pressing from January 1972, on the other hand, is rare and in great demand worldwide.
