November’s debut album En Ny Tid Är Här… enjoyed modest national success, followed by frequent live concerts and festival appearances in their native Sweden. A year later, in 1971, they returned to Stockholm’s Metronome Studio and recorded their second album, 2:a November, with sound engineer Michael B. Tretow. It was released later that same year, once again on the Scandinavian label Sonet. As a continuation of their debut, on this follow-up album they expanded their trio hard rock to incorporate greater complexity into their songs. While the flute was no longer featured, progressive elements were introduced through the subtle use of piano and organ, played by producer Georg Wadenius and guest musician Sylvia Olin. Nevertheless, the powerful bass of Crister Stålbrant and the fast-paced guitar of Richard Rolf continued to define the hard blues rock, accompanied by vocals in their native Swedish.

They subsequently embarked on a successful European tour, during which they performed live alongside popular musicians and bands in England, among other places. Despite the Swedish lyrics, mostly written by Christer Stålbrandt, November also enjoyed success outside their home country. Their lyrics were often translated into English, but the fans insisted that the Swedish lyrics be sung. Record sales now began to rise modestly on an international level as well, prompting the band to work on a third album.
