An extremely rare US progressive rock album from 1975 by the obscure four-piece band Mutha Goose from Indiana. The band consisted of singer and guitarist Mark Hardy, Herb Hagenwald on keyboards (who also produced the album), bassist Jeff Cefali and drummer Dave Limebery. Their debut album, entitled „I“, was released as a private press on the little-known Alpha Omega label.

It showcases varied, hard-hitting prog-rock with strong psychedelic elements, characterised by powerful guitar riffs and a swirling organ. Slower interludes featuring keyboards and psychedelic-sounding vocals alternate with extended jams, in which the musicians demonstrate their remarkable skills.

Rumour has it that their van was involved in an accident while on tour, which not only destroyed numerous records but also claimed the singer’s life, shortly before they were due to signing with a major record label. The album was never re-released and was pressed worldwide in an ultra-limited run of just around 100 copies. This first and only LP is a must-have for fans of obscure early American hard-prog-psych bands and is a genuine rarity that now costs a small fortune.
