A completely unknown album by a completely unknown short-lived German musical duo from Bonn. Metronic Underground consisted of multi-instrumentalists Thomas Wulke and Gernot P. Schilling, who recorded their first and only LP, Illusion, in 1981. Under the guidance of legendary producer Conny Plank, they created an album of progressive electronic rock, ambient and experimental music with melodic and dissonant elements and occasionally strange vocal effects. Comparisons with Klaus Schulze and Edgar Froese from the Berlin School were inevitable, but they never achieved the same level of fame. Nevertheless, with their electronic sounds from synthesizers and electric guitars, they are considered one of the pioneers of electronic bands in the German indie scene.
Still unreleased to this day, this original private pressing in a limited edition of only 200 copies is a real rarity that costs a fortune.
