With their very own psychedelic, hard acid rock dominated by two guitars, enriched by progressive elements that create an almost symphonic atmosphere with the use of flute and synthesiser as well as sound effects and vocal distortion, the band Lightshine, founded in 1974, finally wanted to record a record. In their region around Emmerich am Rhein, the quintet was already one of the most sought-after live acts, also opening for numerous prominent bands at festivals. After cancellations from various record companies, Joe (g, voc), Ulli (g, fl, voc), Olli (synth), Wolfgang (b, voc) and Egon (dr) decided to record their first LP self-published. It was released in 1976 on the tiny Trefiton label in an edition of 500 copies. Due to the high demand, another 500 copies were reprinted.
Despite this minor success and numerous subsequent concerts, the big breakthrough never came and the band broke up a year later. On their first and only album, they created a hallucinatory cosmos of sound that gave the Krautrock movement something new. The rest of the small edition of the original vinyl has completely vanished into private collections.
