L'Uovo di Colombo from Rome was one of many Italian bands in the 70s who released one record only. One of the main reasons was usually the lack of support from the record company. After their eponymous album, recorded in 1973, the group disbanded. This LP is considered by many critics to be one of the 20 best Italian progressive rock albums. The impressive vocals of Toni Gionta (later with Cherry Five) are skilfully and variedly supported by a keyboard/bass/drums trio with occasional use of electric and acoustic guitars.
Released in a small edition on the major label Columbia, this extraordinary album is now a sought-after collector's item.
