Jericho was an Israeli supergroup from Tel Aviv, who were first called Churchill's, then renamed themselves Jericho Jones after moving to England and for their first record release, and shortened their name to Jericho for their third LP. This was also the title of their 1972 album, recorded at Command Studios in London and produced by Ellis Elias, who had also worked on the previous album. Danny Shoshan (voc), Haim Romano (g), Robb Huxley (g), Michael Gabriellov (b) and Ami Triebich (dr) played a much heavier and darker style on this album compared to their first two LPs. In just five tracks, they showcased their energetic progressive heavy rock with psychedelic influences, driven by distorted hard rock guitars and Danny Shoshan's powerful vocals. Released in 1972 on the A&M Records label, the LP unfortunately sold poorly due to insufficient marketing and management problems. This led to their return to Israel and the band's breakup in 1973, despite previous successful tours in the UK.
To this day, they enjoy cult status and the first pressings of all three albums are rare and highly sought after.
