Five Belgian teenager started a band called The Voodoo in the mid-60s, playing covers from British & American bands. Later renamed as Irish Coffee, they played their own music and did a lot of live-gigs over the years supporting bands like Focus, Dr. Feelgood, Yes. After releasing a few singles with some success the management of the small record company Triangle agreed to release a supporting album in 1971. Their only LP, recorded at Trident Studios, contains seven interestingly composed tracks in the heavy and hard rock style, characterised by searing lead guitars, powerful vocals and tasteful, subtle keyboard sounds.
Sadly, the band splitted-up in 1975. Although touring extensively in order to support their album, it was only sold several thousand copies in Belgium, but did little to nothing elsewhere. In the rare cases when an original copy comes on the market today, true stratospheric prices are achieved.
