Haze was a progressive rock band from Biel in the canton of Bern in Switzerland that only existed for one year. The band consisted of Christian Scherler (voc, fl), lead guitarist Heinz Schwab, Hans-Jürg Frei (g, org), Dietmar Löw (b) and drummer Kurt Frei. With a record deal in hand, the band went to Dieter Dierks' studio in Cologne-Stommeln in April 1971. Produced by Peter Hauke, they played a complex and guitar-driven hard rock, enriched by occasional flute and organ playing, including some psychedelic touches. The peculiar and eccentric vocals gave the cleverly arranged heavy progressive rock an unmistakable and individual flavour. Their debut album Hazecolor-Dia, whose five tracks were all written by bassist Dietmar Löw, was released the same year by German label Bacillus Records with a spectacular cover. A slide frame the size of an LP encloses the plastic film as a coloured slide on which the group is shown. This gimmix cover was created by the designer and singer of the band Nine Days Wonder Walter Seyffer.

Despite this impressive cover, their first and only LP remained on the shelves at the time. Today, the original first pressing on the white Bacillus label is a very hard-to-find collector's item!
