The first and only LP by the short-lived German band Frame from Marburg. It consisted of Dieter Becker (vocals, percussion), guitarist Andy Kirnberger, who almost simultaneously played as a guest musician to Pell Mell's first LP Marburg in 1972, Cherry Hochdörfler (org, p, mellotron, spn), Peter Lotz (b, voc, perc) and Wolfgang Claus (dr, perc). Their debut album, recorded at Dierks Studios and produced by label owner Peter Hauke, was released in 1972 on Bacillus Records. It presents a varied, organ-dominated heavy progressive rock with powerful guitars, enriched with experimental elements from blues, folk, symphonic and jazz rock. The versatile vocals with English lyrics underline the British influence on the group's sound. However, they failed to achieve commercial success, and the band soon split up.
Their only LP, which was only released in Germany, is now rare and expensive and enjoys an excellent reputation, not only among prog rock fans.
