Fapardokly was a US West Coast band founded in 1964 by Merrell Fankhauser under the name Merrell And The Exiles. It consisted of Fankhauser (guitar, vocals), Jeff Cotton (guitar), Jim Furguson (bass) and Greg Hampton (drums). Between 1964 and 1967, the band – in various line-ups – recorded around 30 tracks at the small Glenn Records studio in Palmdale, California, but apart from a few single releases, all of these were shelved. In the summer of 1967, the studio owner, Glen MacArthur, decided to release an album featuring some old songs from the archive and a few new tracks. Fankhauser then recorded several new songs with his band, which had since been renamed Fapardokly. MacArthur selected songs somewhat randomly, from both the archives and the newly recorded material, and released the Fapardokly album in mono at the end of 1967 on UIP Records, a subsidiary label set up specifically for this purpose.

Unfortunately, his approach was not systematic, so that to this day no one knows who played on which track. Furthermore, the twelve tracks are not in chronological order; new and old material have been mixed together. The album features just three songs by the actual band Fapardokly, four songs by the studio group that were never released under a band name, and five tracks by Merrell and The Exiles. This selection of songs showcases a wide variety of sounds, ranging from typical 1960s pop through West Coast to psychedelic rock. This album, which is highly sought after by collectors, is one of the most valuable and sought-after historical recordings of the 1960s and is probably the most interesting release, particularly for fans of Merrell Fankhauser (HMS Bounty, Mu).
