Founded in New York in 1965 under the name The Druids, the band later moved to the West Coast and changed their name to Druids Of Stonehenge in order to sign a record deal there with UNI Records, a subsidiary of Universal/MCA. The band consisted of lead singer Dave Budge, the two guitarists Carl Hauser and Bill Tracy, Tom Workman on bass, and drummer Steve Tindall. The recording sessions for their debut album took place in two phases: the majority were recorded at T.T.G. Studios in Los Angeles, with the remainder at Nola Recording Studios in New York. Their first and only album, Creation, was released in October 1968.

Initially similar in style to the early Rolling Stones, they now played an excellent, uncompromising and hard-hitting garage rock, characterised by raw, screeching vocals and some psychedelic influences. Despite numerous live concerts and an appearance on the well-known „Joe Franklin Show“, the LP went completely unnoticed. The group disbanded a year later without recording another album. Their sole LP is now considered one of the rarest (if not the rarest) releases on the UNI label, which is known for releasing records by some highly sought-after psychedelic rock acts.
