An extremely rare, self-titled hard rock LP, released in 1980 as a private press in a tiny run with an imaginative cover design. Cloud Nine was an obscure band with its roots in Nuremberg (Bavaria), founded in 1978 and led by the renowned bass virtuoso Harald Trepte. The line-up consisted of guitarist and vocalist Horst Uli Peterwich, percussionist and vocalist Harald Pusch, keyboardist Gunter Wolf and Peter Staminger on drums. The musical range of all seven tracks combines various rock genres, particularly hard rock and psychedelic rock, although by the late 1970s and early 1980s these styles were no longer in vogue.

Nevertheless, with their rich and multi-layered instrumentation, they played a varied mix of psychedelic-tinged hard rock, interspersed with progressive and experimental elements. The thoughtful lyrics are all performed in German, which represents a commitment to cultural identity, something that was a novelty at the time. The band split up soon after this release. The tiny limited edition of just around 300 copies certainly adds to its appeal among collectors and enthusiasts of the genre. Undoubtedly one of the rarest German rock records of all time!
