Second output from the legendary German band Arktis from Bonn in May 1975. After their first LP which wasn’t successful they again tried to get a record deal with a vinyl album. Arktis Tapes was a best tracks compilation of all their improvisation passages and jams during the last two years. With a mix of heavy rocking songs with psychedelic tones and hippie-like vocals, they again approached music publishers and record companies. But when the negotiations again remained without result, the group disbanded in October 1975. Their third album under the name Arktis was recorded a year later with a new line-up.
In a small edition of 1000 copies only, original pressings on the tiny Bonn-Bons Records label are now being traded at top prices in collector’s circles.
