Greek prog trio Akritas formed in late 1972 by Aris Tasoulis (p, org, synth), Dimos Papachristou (g), Stavros Logaridis (voc, b, g) and Giorgos Tsoupakis (dr). This 1973 eponymous release on the major label Polydor was to be their sole LP. Considered as one of the most ambitious Greek progressive albums, it contains complex multi-instrumental rhythmic patterns with rich prog rock, jazzy parts and psychedelic vibes mixed with elements from the Greek traditional folk music. It was innovative for the time and for many prog lovers worldwide one of the best progressive albums ever made in Greece.
Definitely a very unique album and extremely rare too! Sadly, after some live shows and following poor sales they disbanded.
